Football Referees London

Our Young Referees Group have worked hard on their promotion this season with remarkable success; 7 of them gaining promotion or being nominated for their promotional bid. They are listed below.

Level 7 to Level 6

Tom Prime
Tom has been promoted to Level 6 and has recently been nominated to FA Core. Tom lined on the Arthur Dunn Senior Cup Final at the age of 17. He regularly operates on the Spartan and Arthurian leagues. Last year Tom was the recipient of the Dave McCarthy Award. Tom is moving to Manchester in September to begin his University studies for which we wish him the best of luck. Congratulations Tom.

Bruno Gaisie
Bruno Gaisie too has had a great season and has been promoted to Level 6 and is going for promotion to Level 5. Bruno has had two County Cup Finals, taking charge of the U12’s Cup Final along with lining the Sunday Challenge Cup Final. He was rewarded for good performances and chosen to represent the FA at the Premier League U14’s Tournament where he took charge of Reading vs Young Boys (Switzerland). He was also rewarded by receiving the first ever Young Referee of the Year award by the AFA & Lonsar Referees Society. Congratulations Bruno.

Level 6 to Level 5

Jason Hon
Jason gained promotion to Level 5 after a difficult start to the season, he turned his season around and gained promotion. He also took charge of the Southern Amateur League (SAL) Junior Cup Final. He often operates on the SAL, the Combined Counties and many AFA Cup competitions. Jason will shortly be going off to the Iber Cup and other international tournaments to referee/assistant referee. So best of luck and well done to Jason.

Jamie DeSouza
Jamie DeSouza gained his promotion to Level 5 after a season of hard work, he took charge of this year’s AFA Junior Cup Final. He also is on FA Core and has worked hard with his performance coach to ensure his performances are improving for the next level up. Jamie is at University in Reading and commits his refereeing alongside his studies. Well done to Jamie on a great season!

Promotions to Level 4

We’ve also delighted that three other young referees have received confirmation of their promotions to Level 4. Deryll David, Liam Giles and Fabio Roque have all been promoted to Level 4 by The FA. Huge congratulations go to them.

Deryll David
Deryll went for promotion from Level 5 to Level 4 after taking a year’s break to gain experience on the Spartan and South Midlands League and Senior County League where he was last year appointed to both his first County FA Senior Cup Final and the Supply League’s Premier Division Cup Final as an assistant Referee. This year Deryll concentrated on promotion and was appointed to referee the AFA Challenge Cup Final. Deryll is going into to his 7th season of refereeing and he was also on FA Core this year.

Liam decided earlier in the season to do the double jump from Level 6 to Level 4. After gaining his Level 5 successfully in March, he was nominated to the FA for Level 4. He refereed on the Southern Amateur League, and lined on the Essex Senior League. He was also appointed to assistant referee this year’s AFA Senior Cup Final at Old Owens. Liam was also part of FA Core. Liam has also had the opportunity to line at our National Stadium, Wembley.

Fabio Roque
Fabio is a London FA Referee who gained his Level 6 in London. He then went off to University in Bath at the beginning of the season, where he has he gained promotion from Level 6 to Level 4 with Somerset FA. He gained his promotion to Level 5 in October and was nominated by his County to the FA for Level 4. Fabio has a role within Tournaments Abroad as a staff member and went to Iber Cup Casacis 2017.

It’s great news for our group. 7/8 who went for promotion, gained promotion! And we now have 3 Level 4’s in our Young Referees Group and 3 new Level 4’s for our Society!

Congratulations to one and all!

Promotion is a big jump for any referee but our group has worked hard on supporting one another through the promotion season and for 7 of our referees to have been promoted or nominated is a massive achievement to which our society and Young Referees Group are proud of.
